Lore

The obsidian city of Aziyog squats far beneath the world, below lava fields and volcano roots. Its endless halls are honeycombed with slave-bone mortar, and there rules Vrogros, the Underlord of the Abyssal Horde. He's a master of the Dark Rift, a skill that lets him rip open passages between worlds, and he uses it to hurl fire and malice at anything that resists him. The underground holds few prizes worth taking, so his eyes have turned upward. He's already sent probing legions through the rift to test the surface nations, and they were meant to be sacrificed for information. Now the full horde marches, and Vrogros himself steps into the sun to announce that his reign begins. Those who face him will bow and pay tribute, or they'll be crushed where they stand.
