Wisper Replaces Ace at Team Liquid

Team Liquid have signed Wisper as their new Dota 2 offlaner, replacing Ace in the active roster. The organisation announced the move on September 20, bringing the Bolivian player into a lineup that also includes miCKe, Nisha, Boxi and tOfu. His arrival follows the end of his spell with LGD Gaming and gives Liquid a new player in the position Ace occupied during the previous season.

The transfer comes after both Liquid and LGD competed at The International 2026. Wisper finished in the 9-13 placement range with LGD, and the Chinese organisation subsequently chose not to extend its player agreements. He entered free agency before joining Liquid. It is another change of team for a player whose recent career has included HEROIC as well as LGD, but it is not his first experience playing for a European organisation. Wisper represented OG in 2024, before the season in which he played for HEROIC and LGD.

A recent finalist joins his former opponent

Wisper’s LGD spell included a run to the grand final of BLAST Slam VII in June. That campaign brought him directly up against the organisation he has now joined: LGD eliminated Team Liquid with a 2:0 victory in the lower-bracket quarter-final on June 5. The result was one step in a longer recovery through the bracket after LGD had lost its upper-bracket series against Team Yandex. LGD then beat Aurora 2:1 in the lower-bracket semi-final and defeated BetBoom Team by the same score in the lower-bracket final. Those victories earned a rematch with Yandex for the title. In the best-of-five grand final on June 7, Yandex won 3:1, leaving Wisper and his teammates as runners-up at BLAST Studios in Copenhagen. The tournament’s official match record lists Wisper in LGD’s playing lineup, alongside Yuma, TaiLung, Thiolicor and KingJungles. That sequence adds a substantial international result to the background of Liquid’s signing. Wisper did not arrive at the transfer window solely on the back of LGD’s International placement: his previous team had also reached a BLAST championship match and beaten Liquid during that run. The June series is historical context for the move, rather than a result achieved with his new teammates.

The earlier OG chapter ended without a trophy or qualification for The International through the European qualifier in 2024. His subsequent time with HEROIC and LGD therefore forms a separate part of his recent record, including the Copenhagen final and the later International appearance. Liquid are signing him for the offlane position after that sequence of events; the announcement does not place him in a different role within the team’s active five.

The lineup Wisper is joining

Ace had joined Liquid in 2025 alongside support player tOfu after the breakup of Gaimin Gladiators. That arrival linked the two players’ move to Liquid, but the latest announcement concerns the offlane change: tOfu remains part of the listed support pairing with Boxi. Blitz is listed as the coach of the updated lineup. Liquid reached the top six at The International 2026. Their run ended in the lower bracket with a 0:2 defeat to Team Spirit, before the offlane position changed hands. The new roster retains the carry and mid players named in the announcement, with Wisper taking the third core position. The announced allocation of playing roles is:

• miCKe — carry; Nisha — mid; Wisper — offlane.
• Boxi and tOfu — supports.

Wisper’s first major tournament with the updated Liquid roster is set to be BLAST Slam VIII. The competition begins online on September 29 and finishes in Malta on October 11, with a prize pool of $750 thousand. The online opening and the Malta finish are different parts of the same event, not a full tournament played on the island. It is the next scheduled setting for Wisper to play alongside Liquid’s other four starters after facing the organisation as an opponent during his previous BLAST run.
