Bot matches are a low-pressure place to learn controls and repeat basic decisions. They cannot copy every human strategy, but they can provide a stable environment for measuring last hits, deaths and item timing.
Open the scoreboard at fixed times and record last hits, net worth and deaths. Compare the same points across several matches.
Use the current method
Choose Play Versus Bots for a quick standard match or create a private lobby when you need specific teams and difficulty.
Pick one training goal before the match. Useful goals include fifty last hits by ten minutes, one planned support rotation or a fixed first-item time.
Use the same hero for several games. Repetition makes it easier to see whether the routine improved rather than whether a new hero felt easier.
Check that the change worked
Practice using the courier, placing wards and checking the minimap even when the bots create little pressure.
Raise the difficulty only after the current exercise is consistent. Harder bots are not useful when the player is still fighting the controls.

Avoid common problems
Bots can repeat predictable paths and may not react like ranked opponents. Move to unranked play when the basic routine is stable.
Do not use lobby cheats during a measurement run. Extra gold or levels remove the timing that you are trying to learn.
A win is not the only result. A lost bot match can still show better farming, fewer deaths or cleaner spell use.
Final check before a normal match
Repeat the method once in a fresh private lobby. Confirm the visible result, then return every temporary setting to its normal value. This short check prevents a practice command or experimental control from affecting the next ordinary game.
Game menus and internal commands can change after an update. When the current client does not show an option described here, use the visible replacement instead of forcing an old file or command. The saved post remains a draft so an editor can confirm the current interface before publication.
