Ame Reaches 32 Career Aegis Steals

Ame has moved into a share of third place on Dota 2’s all-time Aegis-steal list. The Xtreme Gaming carry collected the 32nd steal of his career during the team’s PGL Wallachia Season 9 series against Conventus Stellarum on September 20. The milestone puts him level with Abed, behind only No[o]ne and Monet in the historical ranking.

The statistic records a specific kind of Roshan play. An Aegis steal is credited when a player takes the dropped item after the opposing side has killed Roshan; it is not simply every Aegis a player has carried. That distinction matters in this case because Conventus had completed the Roshan kill. lorenof, playing Storm Spirit in the second map, secured Roshan for his team, but Ame reached the pit and claimed the Aegis before Conventus could pick it up. The moment added one to Ame’s career steal total even though Xtreme had not earned the kill that produced the item. It also came in the middle of a series Xtreme could not afford to treat as routine. Conventus had taken the opening map 33-8, so Xtreme needed the second game to stay alive in the best-of-three. Ame’s steal did not end the match by itself, but it became the defining individual statistic from the map on which Xtreme began its comeback.

Where Ame now sits on the all-time list

No[o]ne remains the leader with 37 career Aegis steals. Monet follows on 35, while Ame and Abed now share the next position on 32 apiece. The tie is important: Ame has entered the top three positions in the ranking, but he has not moved ahead of Abed on the raw total. Three steals separate him from Monet and five from No[o]ne. Those margins give the milestone a clear scale without turning it into a record that has not yet been broken. Ame’s achievement is the move into a tie for third, not first place. A steal depends on timing and access to the pit because the opposing side has already produced the dropped item. The second-map sequence against Conventus met that definition exactly: lorenof delivered the Roshan kill, and Ame left with the Aegis. The historical table therefore measures stolen pickups rather than total Roshan involvement. Players can accumulate ordinary Aegis claims without adding to this category. Ame’s 32nd was notable because possession switched sides after the kill, giving Xtreme the reward from an objective Conventus had completed.

The series around the milestone required a full three maps. Conventus dominated the opening game, putting Xtreme behind 0:1 before the Aegis sequence occurred on map two. Xtreme levelled the match and then had to recover again in the decider: Conventus controlled its early stages, but Xtreme seized the advantage and completed the 2:1 comeback. The victory preserved Xtreme’s unbeaten series record at the event. Ame’s pickup was therefore both a personal statistical landmark and part of the map that stopped his team from losing the series in two games.

The win keeps Xtreme perfect in the Swiss stage

Xtreme Gaming moved to a 2-0 series record in the modified Swiss group stage, while Conventus fell to 1-1. Three series wins are required to qualify for the playoffs, while three defeats mean elimination. The victory therefore improved Xtreme’s record without completing qualification. Against that format, the comeback carried more weight than an isolated map result. Xtreme avoided joining Conventus in the 1-1 group and reached two wins, not the three required to advance.
