MieRo Backs Save’s Move to Mid

BetBoom Team considered outside midlaners before choosing to move Save into position two for the 2026/2027 season. Offlaner MieRo said the organisation wanted to give its former position-four support an opportunity in mid, a decision he personally supports. The role change places Save in gpK’s former position within a roster that has also added swedenstrong and Kataomi.

MieRo’s comments came at a very early point in the new lineup’s work. He said the five had completed only four or five days of practice, so his assessment was based on the opening stage of preparation rather than a run of official tournament results. The initial sessions were going normally, but he did not present that brief sample as proof that every roster question had been settled. BetBoom had spoken with possible midlaners during the rebuilding process. The organisation ultimately chose an internal role change, allowing Save to test himself in the centre lane instead of signing one of those candidates for the position. MieRo said he believes Save can make the transition. At the same time, he described a later review based on results and the state of the roster. That qualification makes the decision a genuine competitive trial, not an unconditional promise that no further adjustment can occur.

Why BetBoom chose swedenstrong

The support search involved trials rather than an immediate signing. MieRo said the team looked at other players and considered one or two additional candidates. Swedenstrong stood out as the most communicative and pleasant of the options they tested. The offlaner also highlighted his knowledge of Dota, giving a sporting reason for the choice alongside the interpersonal fit. Communication carries particular importance in this version of the roster because more than one relationship is changing at once. Save is learning the rhythms of mid after playing position four, while swedenstrong enters a support pairing with Kataomi. A candidate able to communicate clearly can reduce the friction created by those simultaneous changes, although the first four or five practice days cannot show how the group will respond across a full season. MieRo’s account also draws a useful line between selection and proof. Swedenstrong earned the place after the trials, and Save received the opportunity in mid, but both decisions still have to work in official play. The team has made its choices; it has not claimed that a few days of scrims are enough to validate the finished structure.

Save’s move became public on September 14. He had previously occupied the position-four role, while gpK played mid for BetBoom. gpK moved to the inactive roster because of mental and physical fatigue, leaving the central lane open during the reshuffle. BetBoom could have filled it with a conventional midlaner from outside the team. Instead, the organisation retained Save and changed his role. That approach preserves a player already familiar with the club while asking him to take on different lane responsibilities, farm priority and matchups. MieRo did not attach a guaranteed duration to the experiment. He said Save would play mid until a later point and that the team would then look at the results and roster. The wording keeps the evaluation tied to performance rather than a fixed public deadline.

BetBoom’s announced lineup for the new season

The roster announcement lists Kiritych as carry, Save in mid and MieRo in the offlane. Swedenstrong and Kataomi form the support pair, with TORONTOTOKYO named as coach. The shape is clear even though some of its working relationships are new. Save moves from the support line into a core role; swedenstrong joins after the trials; and Kataomi works alongside him in the back line. For MieRo, the immediate test is not whether the roster looks unusual on paper, but how it performs once online competition begins. His remarks were positive about both new choices without disguising the limited preparation time. That balance is the most revealing part of the update: BetBoom have committed to a starting five and assigned the roles, yet the players themselves still see the early matches as evidence they need to gather.
