Spirit to Receive Moscow TI Mural

A commemorative mural is planned in Moscow to mark Team Spirit’s third victory at The International. The project recognises the organisation as the only three-time champion of Dota 2’s leading tournament. The artwork will give that competitive achievement a public form beyond the tournament stage.

The mural is intended as a tribute to Team Spirit’s third The International title. Spirit’s earlier championships came in 2021 and 2023, so the 2026 victory turned an already successful record into a unique three-title achievement. Team Spirit and BetBoom announced the Moscow project together, connecting that history to a fan-facing installation rather than focusing on one player or one isolated moment from the final.

The planned location is the Design Factory, a site that had already hosted BETBOOM Base activity on August 22 and 23. Its programme included a broadcast of The International 2026 final, giving the future artwork a direct link to a place where supporters gathered around the tournament. The tribute therefore joins a record-setting result with an existing Dota 2 community setting in Moscow.

The final that produced Spirit’s record

Team Spirit secured the third title on 23 August 2026 by defeating TEAM VISION 3-2 in the grand final of The International 2026. The five-map score matters because it identifies the exact series that delivered the achievement now being commemorated in Moscow. It was not simply another appearance in a final: the victory made Team Spirit the first Dota 2 organisation to reach three The International championships. The mural therefore draws its meaning from a confirmed competitive outcome, with TEAM VISION as the opponent in the deciding series and Team Spirit as the directly affected organisation. The project’s focus remains on that team accomplishment, rather than on individual performances from the final.

The International 2026 ran in Shanghai from 13 to 23 August and featured 16 teams. Its decisive stage was held at the SPD Bank Oriental Sports Center, where Team Spirit completed the tournament with the grand-final victory. The champion received approximately $1.66 million in prize money. Those tournament details provide the setting for the Moscow tribute: the mural follows a title earned at an event with a defined field, venue and concluding date. They also separate the project from a routine promotional appearance, since its subject is the outcome of the full Shanghai competition and the historical status attached to that result.

Fans can submit names for the artwork

A dedicated form has opened on the official project page for supporters who want to send in a nickname. Submitted names may appear directly on the art object, giving fans a possible place within the memorial project rather than limiting the mural to the organisation’s own imagery. Team Spirit has also set clear limits on what can be used. Entries containing profanity, discriminatory statements, political slogans, advertising or other hidden meanings will not be included. The form creates a defined next step for supporters, although submission does not guarantee that a nickname will appear on the finished mural.
